As President - Owner & Founder of Worth A Shot Events I wanted to write to all of our potential clients so that you could all get to know me and see how this business concept came into fruition. I have been in the service industry for over 10 years. I started out working in hometown bars as a host, waitress, and an aspiring bartender. I had also been working at a catering hall when I was about 14 years old. I started out as a front desk host answering phones and meeting new couples and clients before their showing appointments. It was then that I had realized that I wanted to be more than that. I was given the opportunity to be a wait staff member, from there I learned how to bartend, and from there I quickly moved up to a bridal attendant. This was by far my most favorite position yet. Although it wasn't always easy, getting to know brides, grooms, and their families on the most important day of their lives always left me smiling and feeling "glass half full". Shortly after that, I was promoted to Maître d'. I have since then become not only a top licensed and certified bartender, but I am also certified in white glove service and hospitality management. Over the years, I began to learn that the Hospitality industry had much more to offer than just making drinks and waiting tables. It was then that I realized that there was a bigger picture and for me that was being able to share my experiences and expertise with others. It has always been a passion of mine to cater, plan and work events. Now I am teaching my staff all of the things that I have learned along the way. Our mission is to make your life a lot easier when trying to plan your wedding or to throw a party. I can only hope that our couples feel our passion and see it in the events that we've executed in the past, allowing them peace in knowing that they are in good hands.
Introduction
The Wedding Industry
I first fell in love with weddings and the idea of planning weddings when I saw the movie The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez in 2001...Who didn't. That was 13 years ago! For me, I quickly made this passion of mine, into a reality. I went out and got the first job that I could that had anything to do with weddings and planning events. I was hired at a catering hall as a front desk operator, answering phones and meeting new clients upon their arrival for showings. From then on, I knew that this was a passion that I had to follow. I continued to work at the catering hall mastering every position. I moved up from phone operator, to wait staff, then bartending, and then to a bridal attendant where I truly fell in love with weddings. The idea of being a part of someone's most important day, being able to bring them smiles and to cater to their every need. Of course, as a bridal attendant you get to see both the ups and the downs behind every wedding, but it was just that, that made me the best at what I did. From there, I was promoted to Maître d', where I was running events and staff, meeting with clients and planning their weddings. This became a turning point for me. I picked this industry up in college and took any and all courses that I could to familiarize myself with all aspects of the industry.
The Wedding Memories
Each memory for me, is different. Most of them good memories but some of them started as not so good but turned into great memories. I've been told by our brides that I am always a step ahead of what they're thinking or what they need. Somehow, I always know just want they're going to say or what they're going to need. Specifically, I remember a wedding that we did in Walden NY, the bride wrote to me "I just want to THANK YOU and your incredible team for running the show on Saturday for our wedding. I knew from our first correspondence that you had everything under control. We went from having a venue who was taking care of everything to totally starting over and planning a "front yard" wedding. When the tent was put up on Wednesday, I kept saying it looked like the circus was in town. From the minute the walls went up and the lights were hung, things started to change. Then you and your amazing team showed up- almost like a scene from Men in Black. You guys were professional, calm, and ready to go. Every single staff member went above and beyond."
She had called us "Men in Black" when we came onto the property, with our uniforms and our radios and ready to work. This not only made me laugh but it's something that I'll never forget. It also made her happy!

Company History
I started Worth A Shot Events, Inc a little over 2 years ago. I had originally wanted to open up a mobile bar business, but the idea kept growing in my mind, before I was able to settle on exactly what I wanted. The name of my company Worth A Shot Events was derived from the original idea of opening a mobile bar business, but then I thought to myself, I want to do more. I've spent years working and studying everything that there is to know about hospitality and within the events and wedding industry, why not use all of my experience and put in back into the weddings and events that I do for clients. The concept quickly picked up and now I find myself in the full swing of things. We specialize in planning and staffing. We have a team of over 30 staff members, who are all licensed & certified in white glove service. We strive to be the best always and are always finding new way to improve ourselves. I am hopeful that there is a great future ahead for my company and staff. I hope to be an industry staple in the next few years. Ultimately, I hope to be known for all of our hard work. Our passion shows within the events that we execute.
FAQs
The questions that I get most of all is, What makes you different from other companies or planners?
The answer to that is, the fact that we not only offer staffing which most planners don't but there isn't anything that we cannot do or won't do. We've created such a great rapport with all of our vendors. So much so that we are able to offer some of the most unique services. Services that aren't offered by others along with the best discounts within the industry. I always like to say "dare to be different" "don't be afraid to stand out". This model is true and goes for my business as well. I want to be memorable in our client eyes and these models are how we make that happen!
Personal Hobbies
What do I do when I'm not working? I'm always working! lol
Who am I outside of work? I try to be my best self outside of work. A hobby of mine is working out and eating healthy. I feel that if a healthy lifestyle is lived then everything surrounding that lifestyle is healthier, which for me, translates into my work and company. I am very family orientated, so if work is aside I always try to make time for my family. Family is what makes us who we are, why not surround yourself with them, to always remain true to yourself. I have an Australian Shepard 7 year Female Pup who is the light of my life, she is my best friend and she comes everywhere with me. Unfortunately not to weddings or events, but she's so good that she probably could! She'd be 1 foot behind me every step of the way.
On a side note, I am very much into fashion. designers, clothing, shoes, handbags, the list goes on. After all what girl isn't! I love organizing my closet and changing it around every now and again. It relaxes me, to be honest...the ability to be able to organize. I feel that if things around me are organized then I will be too.
Subsequently to this, I am also a bit of a tomboy. I love sports, Football, Baseball, Hockey, especially NASCAR. I learned to work on cars when I was in high school and always wanted to do all the things that the boys would do, like wood shop or tech class. I think that all of these qualities round me out...at least I hope so :-)
