The Wedding Plaza is more than a bridal salon - we're a valuable member of your wedding day team! And as a member of that team, we have a singular focus: getting you down the aisle in a dress and tux that's made for you.

Our store carries a wide selection of popular designers, silhouettes to accentuate every body type, and a collection of dresses for mothers, bridesmaids, and flower girls. Don't worry about sending the men in your party to a different store - we also carry suits and tuxedos for your groomsmen, fathers, and of course fiancés.

The most important part of our job is customization. In our-house alterations team alters each gown and tailors each tux impeccably. You'll walk into your wedding with a garment made specifically for you!

The Wedding Plaza takes pride in our family. We have staff members who've been with us for years, whose children begin their careers inside the walls of our store. We also encourage our staff to begin their own enterprises, which is why we're proud to house a fellow BOLI preferred vendor - Dawn Romanello, makeup artist and bridal stylist with The Blushing Bridal Suite.

Planning a wedding and getting married takes a bride on an emotional rollercoaster. Add COVID on top of that, and the emotional component is amped up so much more. The most rewarding memories I have revolve around getting my brides their dresses, regardless of the circumstance. Whether that meant meeting them when the store was closed or at odd hours of the day, I made sure my COVID brides had their gowns in hand. They were all incredibly grateful for our efforts, and it made what we do worth it.

We specialize in pushing you out of your comfort zone - we like to think "out of the box." You may come in with an idea of a style or silhouette you'd like to try, and while we will definitely pull those gowns for you, we'll also encourage you to try dresses you may not have considered. A lot of our customers leave saying "I would have never bought that dress unless you suggested I try it on." We're a specialty store, and we want you to have a specialty service.

Personally, I consider myself to be somewhat of a "mother whisperer." I talk to moms all the time about their dresses, and want them to be in a dress that's new, exciting, and flattering - not a slightly different version of the same dress they always wear. Mothers should feel special and stylish too!

I've been in the wedding business for over 30 years, and actually began working while still in high school - I was the manager of a store where I sold tuxedos and formal wear. Eventually I left to go to college, but after I graduated I returned to work in the industry with my brother. He ended up leaving the business, but I stayed on.

We opened our Baldwin location in 1990, starting with tuxedos but then expanding into bridal wear. We were there for about 15 years before relocating to Floral Park, where we've been since 2003.

Q: How far in advance should I purchase my gown?
A: Shipping is a huge concern right now. The same shortages and delays you're seeing for your favorite Target products, we're seeing for your dress. I suggest buying your dress a minimum of 9 months prior to your wedding.

Q: Do I need to make an appointment?
A: We suggest making an appointment, but we also accept walk-ins.

Q: How long are appointments?
A: As long as you need them to be! We don't put a time limit on your shopping. If it takes you three hours to feel like you've seen everything you want, you'll get three hours of our time.

I love wine at a good restaurant and doing anything outdoors. I especially love to travel!

My biggest hobby outside of work is the gym. I'm a big gym person, and I love to exercise. I don't know if my workouts make me stronger for my work in this industry, or if the fact that I'm constantly moving keeps me strong enough to go to the gym. Whatever it is, it's working!

The Wedding Plaza is on your side, and we want to work together to find you your dream gown. As a bride, there are a few things to keep in mind that will help us help you to the best of our abilities:

Make sure you're on time for any appointments. If you're running late or need to cancel, call us.

Give us an accurate number of people you're bringing along to your appointment. That will help us best accommodate you. If you tell us 3 people but show up with 8, it's harder for us to prepare the appropriate space.

If you've decided on purchasing a gown at another store, no hard feelings! Just be mindful about cancelling any upcoming appointments you have with us. That will allow us to restock anything we have pulled for you, or release any holds you have on items.
