The Wedding Memories
There was a bride in May 2022 who particularly stood out to Tatiana. She came to the shop with a gown that was several sizes too big. The bride shopped around and was told they couldn’t make the gown fit like a glove. Tatiana didn’t even question it, and took on the challenge. She was able to alter the dress to fit perfectly, making for one happy bride!

Company History
Tatiana learned her craft, and fell in love with sewing, while attending school in her homeland of Russia. I met Tatiana while I was working at Ralph Lauren. Tatiana loves to sew, and she would often show me pieces that she’d make. When I asked her if she used a pattern, she said, “No, I measured it and made it by my hand!” And years later, in 2012, we opened our shop and called it By My Hand. In the beginning, Tatiana would also work at bridal shops, but soon business was booming, and she now focuses solely on the shop and our customers.
FAQs
Q: How much will my alterations cost?
A: We can only give brides a ballpark price over the phone, as there is no way of knowing without seeing the gowns.
Q: What is the turnaround time?
A: Two weeks.
Q: Do we really only need two appointments?
A: You come for the first fitting, and two weeks later the dress will fit you perfectly. If it doesn’t, we can make tweaks. But the tweaks are easier than the alterations.
Q: What if I want to lose weight?
A: We will push you closer to the wedding. Maybe a month, six weeks before the wedding. And yes, it will be ready in time!
Personal Hobbies
We love to go scuba diving and taking our cars to the track in our spare time. And when we can, during the wedding off-season, of course, we love to travel!

Tatiana 100%!!! For my wedding, Tatiana altered a hem on 5 layers, fixed my tank sleeve, switched a clasp out, 7-point bustle, and took in my chest area. She’s AMAZING! She’s so honest and really wants to make you happy. For my mom’s dress, she took everything in from her waist to the floor 2 inches, took off 6 inches from the bottom, and fixed the sleeves. For my sister’s bridesmaid’s dress, it only needed a hem. We’ve used her for a ton of other events and we’re always so pleased. She also steams and presses everything before you pick up! She also is FAST! All the dresses took 2 weeks from the first appointment to pick up.
I've used Tatiana for years for bridesmaids’ dresses and personal dresses and she’s amazing. She also altered my cousin’s wedding dress, my aunt’s Mother of the Bride dress, and I plan on having her do mine as well.
Tatiana is excellent at her craft. She had my dress looking stellar on my fluffy frame. She does her business and sends you on your way. Tatiana also was able to add sleeves to my dress, which came out beautiful.
Tatiana from By My Hand is a miracle worker! I was so happy with my dress! About a month before my wedding, I had a massive panic attack because I was told by two different seamstresses that my dress was sold too big on me. They didn’t think it could be altered to fit me like a glove. Well let me tell you, Tatiana did it! Holy smokes! If she says she can do it, she will be able to do it. She took a dress that looked like a bag on me and turned it into the dress of my dreams! She was also so nice to me during the entire process. After I left, I noticed a bit of lace that wasn’t sewn on all the way. I brought it back and she fixed it as I waited. Also, my bustle held up for the entire wedding night!

I was so lucky that Tatiana was my alteration master. I lost weight just right before one month to my wedding, when I got my dress. She was able to alter my Vera Wang dress to my figure perfectly. I originally bought my bridesmaids dress for a wedding, but COVID put a stop to that. Now with the wedding back on, I had gained a ton of weight and couldn't fit into my dress. Then I got COVID which left me three days to have my dress changed to have a corset back so it would fit. With no fabric to take the dress out, it seemed like a miracle Tatiana was able to get the dress to fit me. I think the dress looked prettier and it fit me great! I couldn't have been happier!!
